I have a hard time seeing how the movement could've inspired Nichirenism, which was one of the major political ideologies of secret societies in the 1930's, or the Confucianism which was used to buttress the oppressive state structure.

I have a hard time seeing how extreme anti-Chinese nationalists could support Confucianism.

Imperial Japan wasn't anti-Chinese in World War II, their goal was a Pan-Asian Empire where Japan ruled "benevolently," with China and India being faithful vassal states. Though it wouldn't have mattered if they had, because Confucianism doesn't care so much about the common people as the patriarch or sage. The Imperial Rescript, Shinmin no Michi, and An Investigation of Global Policy with the Yamato Race as Nucleus were three examples of Confucian-inspired works.
