Thus far, the opening of borders and the ending of nations don't seem to be positive in their effects, yet it as all embraced wholeheartedly nonetheless.

The "ending of nations"? How does that work, exactly? Do the countries afflicted by cosmopolitanism collapse into anarchy? Are they annexed by other countries? Do they just vanish land and all from the face of the Earth?

I would say it means that nations are assimilated into a homogeneous and undifferentiated mass, without any culture or traditions, just empty soulless consumerism.
