That doesn't stop there from being experts in science and art.

I have a question can you give a reason why atheist(Not¨religious atheist¨)should not be on this council that will decide what is censored?

If weed is banned, they say, when it's becoming legal across the US.

Please do explain. Because I binge listen to different metal styles and metal bands, and I'm still pretty religious.

I don't really want to threadjack, but to put it simply there are no professional nonreligious atheist moral experts, or almost none. Nonreligious atheists probably have plenty of professional culinary experts. But not professional moral experts.

American Academy of Pediatrics argues the lyrics of heavy metal music influence risky behavior and attitudes, some studies even show heavy metal listners are at a higher risk of suicide and self harm. If it is the government’s responsibility to protect society, should heavy metal music be banned? Clearly, heavy metal should be restricted and controlled, maybe we don’t have to ban all of it, maybe only some? Maybe violence and anger aren’t necessary for musical stlye and we can have decent heavy metal sounding music to satisfy angsty teens. Clearly, music full of rage emotions is not healthy for people to consume.

Racism is full of violence. Should we ban you since you have racist in your name?

No.
Heavy Metal should not be banned.
And there is no legitimate reason to ban it.

I mean, it works too. The priests get annoyed, same with fire. Anyway, heavy metal isn't morally degenerate. That's like saying that dancing is morally degenerate because it 'exposes a person's skin, and essence, to the air.' That's crazy shit, and this is too.

Right.

So metal, I think it shouldn't be banned or restricted. I personally like listening to Drowning Pool's "Bodies" on my way to Mass on Sunday.

Alright, I’d like to offer my two cents on the issue as a whole.

Music is an art form. The point of art is to be interpreted and enjoyed by everyone differently, and to be a creative expression of thoughts and feelings. Heavy metal is music, it is meant to be an art for the public to enjoy, it is not a form of message encouraging violence or hate crimes. In fact, many artists such as Rammstein and KMFDM have gone on record saying their music is meant to be creatively enjoyed. Instead of focusing on how art and creative outlets can hurt us, because ANY form of art could “hurt” us, we should focus on enjoying art collectively.
yea bro idk

Utter lack of artistic merit and excessive use of base are not reasons to ban things.
