When I was in college (a loooooong time ago) my mom told me, the president of the Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Gaming club, that I "couldn't play D&D because there were satanic spells in that game".

To which my response was to hand her the books, and say, "Ok. Find them."

I think she was very disappointed that her friends in the no-fun brigade had lied to her, and that any "spells" simply consisted of saying, "I am casting Magic Missile!" and rolling dice.

Never could stand D&D, so I guess I am safe.

Funnily enough, that's one of the genres of metal I'm not terribly fond of overall. I tend more toward power/speed and the more melodic flavors I can sing along with without destroying my voicebox. (... Though, the one time I tried Through the Fire and the Flames at karaoke night, that still damn near did me in! But then that song seems to be specifically designed to murder you in any musical video game format already, so why not in karaoke too?)

Granted, I'm hardly a hardcore metalhead, my music tastes are extremely eclectic and it's not particularly weird for my playlist to go from Manowar to Garth Brooks to Lindsey Stirling to Dragonforce to Linkin Park to Two Steps from Hell to some obnoxious Jpop thing I can never remember the title to, so....
