Honestly, what kind of a question is that, you read something, and based on previous knowledge of definitions and word usage, you come to a conclusion. You seemed to have completely ignored the fact that it wasn't even an argument, and went on the defensive, taking the statement as a personal attack, thus proving NERVUN's earlier statement.

See this is exactly what I mean by useless. You are making a huge issue out of nothing at all in a pathetic attempt to make someone care. You are attempting to "rub in" a simply misunderstanding. Language is relative and my interpretation was one of many possible fully legal ones.

As I've said, the only worth I place on NSG is how it can entertain me. Debating those who disagree with me does this, as does idle chatter with my friends. But as you seem opposed to conflict for its own sake, it can't but think it odd that you persist with NnT et al over very little.

As an aside, I have been reading "Pride And Prejudice And Zombies" recently. And drinking. These things may impact my use of the English language.

Let me offer an example of my own errors. Jocabia called me out on something I said on another thread. I realized I had insulted someone else gravely, someone I consider a good friend here. You know what I did? I apologized to that person. Do you want me to link you to that?

And as you can see here and in other threads, neither of us consider it personal. If you want arguments and debate to go somewhere then you have to be willing to fully explore it. If you find most people give up on their passions before you get to the bottom of things, then it's probably because they don't think you're worth explaining it to. Personally, I wouldn't find that to be the better outcome.

No, that is true, I didn't see this as a personal attack on your part. Did I disagree with you? Yes, it is normal to disagree. You and don't or won't always think alike on a given subject. But if I made a mistake, I have no qualms in accepting that I did.

I'm not interested in whether you enjoy my posts. I'm interested in demonstrating what is incorrect about the things you say. I'm interested in doing so because I want NSG to be useful to the people reading. I want them to learn. So when I see someone wholesale making something up, I call them out on it. I can, however, see how you'd prefer that I didn't.

I agree. I find the arguments entertaining and often educational. I have often been in the position of fighting off the hordes so to speak and while it's often difficult to wade through, it can be bother entertaining and educational. I find it interesting, though, that most often when I see people complaining like the OP it's people who have repeatedly been totally and utterly shown to speak way over their own heads. I find very few exceptions.

And I think that, after this long on the web, you haven't figured out that people are nice, kind, and gentle IRL because they are face to face with you but are not on the web, there's very little hope for you.

There's also the fact that you can pick and chose who you associate with in real life, and people tend to avoid those they disagree with. No such luck on a message board.
