It appears for the next decade that Roberts will be the Swing vote, unless Trump gets another pick.

Ginsberg, Breyer, and Sotomoyor could all pass with Trump having enough time to make an appointment.

Alright, now I can say this. Personally, this is a sad day for me. In my opinion, Justice Kennedy was the most reasonable and seasonable Justice on the Court. He was my favorite Justice on the High Court, and now he is likely going to be replaced by a person that believes the Earth was literally made in 7 days, well 6 if you excluded God’s vacation and that homosexuals are possessed by demons.

Sad day for the Court. I’m truly mourning this...

Ideally they'll all hang around until there's a dem Senate and white house, then immediately retire. Unfortunately republicans have made it so that there can't be a compromise candidate. It's a solid dem or a far right judge.

On that point, can SCOTUS appointments be removed? I think most dems would be ok with the party purging the court of republicans if they could.

I seem to remember a few republican house members being shot at last year. Obviously I'm not promoting that before anyone reads that line and turns rabid. I'm just saying that neither side trusts the morality or integrity of the other. The SCOTUS won't have any moral authority with 2 trump nominees on it. Many dems would hate every decision it hands down. I can imagine them turning on it given the way McConnell hijacked it.
