Lets see, the Tories are in crisis mode, Labour is run by a Bernie Sanders type socialist, the SNP is still wanting to break the union, UKIP has run it's course, the Greens are nuts, Sinn Fein do nothing, and the DUP is even worse. I may not like the Lib Dems that much, but right now I'd take them over any other party at this point.

We only have to wait to past Sunday and Gareth Southgate will sort this all out.

Jeremy Corbyn is to the left of Sanders.
To almost any other country Sanders would be a normal social democrat.

I’d rather vote for literally any other party then the Lib Dems. Of course, I am biased due to their part in the tuition fees debacle, but I would never hold them to their word again. Any party that sells out it’s core, and primary policy just to be kingmakers should be dissolved.

The problem for me is that I live in a flip-flopping constituency where either the Lib Dems win, or the SNP win. So, for me, the "good option" very much is the Lib Dems I'm afraid...

Funny how this government has gone from restricting prisoners' access to books under that idiot Grayling, to allowing prisoners phones in their cells under Gauke.

Which the LibDems had to compromise on while in the Coalition with Cameron.

That being said, British politics is a shambles right now, and it seems each party compromises a new value every week.

It was before they were in the Tory Lib Dem coalition. Then they dropped it like a brick, and agreed to triple them.

Oh, I didn't realize that's what they were referring to. But yes, you are right, that is complete bull. Tuition fees are not a fundamental belief of the Lib Dems, it is a very recent thing that they have happened across.

No, the pledge wasn't a "fundamental belief", it was one small thing of thousands they campaigned on for that specific election, which they compromised on as a very junior partner in a coalition (all coalition governments involve parties compromising aspects of their manifesto, otherwise coalitions cannot work at all) - it's weird how people hyper focus on that, but ignore the massive amounts of election promises and manifesto pledges that every other party has repeatedly broken time and time again.

It isn't a core belief of the party, it is a relatively recent policy adoption on their part.

It was probably a convenient symbol for disaffected LibDems to latch on to in order to express betrayal they felt occurred when their party was in Government.

And the Lib Dem’s joined Labour and the Conservatives in the mid as untrustworthy politicians who will do anything for more power. Except the first two have a chance at forming a government. It’s like third partys have to focus on a few core issues to get support, like UKIP wanting out of the EU, or the SNP wanting an independent Scotland.

Tuition fees still aren't a fundamental belief of the Lib Dems, regardless of all the pointless window dressing you have put here.

Intentionally or not, the Lib Dem promise on tuition fees was what drew a lot of people to vote for them and was a major factor in how successful they were.

They should have realised from just picking up a newspaper at the time that this had won them a lot of support and probably shouldn't have chucked that particular promise out the window.
