Pro: I can't think of any universe in which there would be a pro to Fasting. In Islamic Countries you can't execute people in Ramadan so I guess the only pro is that some people get to live longer? I guess?

Intermittent fasting can have health benefits. There are improvements to cholesterol levels and insulin sensitivity.

It's not something that I would do because my job is physically demanding, and doing it when I am hungry is just not going to work for me, but apparently some people get good results.

Honestly, I've never done it myself. As with everything, there are risks involved but according to studies, intermittently fasting, when done properly, can have health benefits. I've talked to a few people who've done it and who report feeling certain improvements in their health.

Of course, they've done fasting under a doctor's supervision and for a particular reason (detox, blood sugar problems, weight concerns). Though, IIRC, you can do IF yourself, as long as you get well informed. But I do suggest that, if you're considering it, speaking to your doctor is key.

And (while rare) a bite from a certain tick can cause some people to become allergic to pork.

So, it's a way to -- not only screw over multiple religions -- but actually potentially kill people in a single hate-filled action.

As for the OP... I personally wouldn't like to go without food or water for the hours of daylight. But it's not my religious custom, so I don't have to, and it's not my place to begrudge someone else their custom.

The OP is, as others have said, ostensibly wrong. Muslims don't have to go without any food for a whole month during Ramadan, but rather forgo food and water in daylight hours (because no-one could fast, no food or water -- 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for a month -- and live). From the Muslims I've known, children below the age of puberty and anyone with any illness that would make it difficult (diabetes, severe sickness) are exempted. So, it's not as universal as the OP suggests.

I agree. I've never had it done on me but it's happened to my sister once. I was pretty damn pissed. One of the reasons her and the rest of my younger siblings are home schooled now.

I have seen events where they simply didn't provide any meat other than pork (when I was in Europe, at least), but I've never seen someone feed one of my family something they claimed was another. That's dumb, honestly, and malicious beyond relief.

They could have said "I don't wanna make chicken. Sorry" or "this is pork, just don't eat it if you don't want to" if they really were lazy and couldn't be arsed make separate dishes tho. it's be an assholish move, but nothing as bad as this.
