All things in context. The US and by extension NATO was busy in 91. The ussr had collapsed. Germany was being unified. The middle East was a cluster fuck. The US can and will be just as self centered and greedy as any other great power has ever been. They were concerned with things like securing nuclear weapons in the breakaway states of the former ussr. They could have played world police instead but people bitch regardless.

Well, letting the Balkan conflicts just play out would have resulted in much, much larger loss of life, and as we all know, Balkan conflicts tend to spread. Ignoring the massive moral issues with just letting people die, something the UN really should be taking care of, I remind you that not even America can be everywhere at once. Obviously, it’s easier to get to Serbia when you already have bases in the area than Myanmar. Plus, the US already has so much problems, not even Trump could invent enough BS to justify going there.

See now, ISIS is a false equivalency, they have attacked foreign citizens, and inspired others to do the same. As far as I know, the Anti-Royhinga faction has remained inside their country, making an intervention justification even harder.
