I have a feeling that this proposal translates poorly to Anglophone (particularly North American) readers. German attitudes towards sexuality are definitely much different than ours.

I mean, not really, but to be honest, it really sounds like a bad idea.

This is anecdotal evidence, but I've spoken to a few Germans about the topic. The ones I spoke to anyway find American attitudes towards sex completely bizarre and self-contradictory.

Anyway, I feel like a lot of the value that may be gained from these films could instead be gained through discussions about the topic in a sex ed course. Porn does not reflect reality, that is an important idea to get across.

I have neither a problem with porn nor the principle of trying to garner greater respect for women, but the idea that the government can sway the people's sexual tastes is laughable stupidity no matter what side of the political spectrum it's coming from. Leaders of all stripes need to get over the fact that that is the one thing they will never be able to control, no matter how noble and pure they dress up their intentions.
