There's a ton of misogyny in porn though. The widespread access to commercialized pornography has undoubtedly helped spread unrealistic ideas about sex and dating which leads to the misconceptions mentioned above.

I never thought I would open a thread on Libertarianism and read a comment about misogyny and porn. Porn is as old as when we figured out imagery.

I don't see how that's a relevant question.

But this is besides the point, and an unhelpful deflection. Porn today is different from what it has been in the past in its ubiquity; it's everywhere and it's hard to stay away from for those that actually try to do just that. And it doesn't help that culture is placing an expectation for men to watch pornography, particularly young men. It is also different in the fact that it's become an insanely profitable and powerful industry all its own, based in exploitation of human beings that has a major dark side to it.

I am more than willing to bet that 99% of the people in the MGTOW/incel movement (I'm being generous) are just your usual losers. Men who don't have issues attracting women tend not to despise and degrade them.

Saying that all porn promotes violence against women is like saying all priests rape children. Both statements are untrue and ridiculous.

I'm not saying there isn't some deviant stuff out there, but sometimes someone just wants to see someone good looking get it on. It's completely natural and unworthy of disdain. To believe otherwise is perverse.

One major, to me at least, difference between most, if not all, socialist plans for societies and right libertarian ones is the fact that in the latter, a group could form a socialistic commune while in the former a capitalistic sub group would not be tolerated. That makes the latter more free to me, as it allows for differing economic viewpoints.

How are small scale communes even supposed to work if they aren't ultimately extensions of world capitalism? The amount of diverse materials alone necessary to power a modern economy suggest that communes can't really exist on their own, in autarchy. They must become dependent on the very things they would be trying to escape from, and such escapist experiments are easily subsumed back into capitalism.

How are they supposed to work? The members pool their resources, purchase the necessary land, buildings, equipment, etc. and agree to each contribute each according to their ability and receive the benefits, each according to their need. If they are an agricultural commune, they can become self sufficient as those of the 70's which survived did. If not, then they produce something of value and trade it for their ongoing needs as did the Oneida Community or the Roycrofters. To become truly independent of the outside economic system would require a combination of both; either one large complex or a number of interrelated communes working together.

^i agree with said meter, of when and how ‘heresy’ is guaranteed by the law, to say if a society is free or is not. it also refers to core idea of justice.

We all move to the same state, elect a legislature, governor, and Congresscritters, then repeat as needed in other states.
