The West won the world not by the superiority of its ideas or values or religion … but rather by its superiority in applying organized violence. Westerners often forget this fact; non-Westerners never do.

Oh boy one more page left...So GenCon was fun. Wish I could've bought a 4-day pass instead of lie and use my brother's friend's pass to come back today, but oh well. In total I spent about $340-ish on Warhammer Space Marines and X-Wing Version 1 expansions. A lot less cosplayers this year than in the previous years at GenCon...

I love the mountains, I enjoy hiking to the highest peaks in the local area and seeing mountains rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see.

I love the beach, if I'm just sitting in chair with my feet in the sand, or walking along in the late evening when everybody is gone and walking with my feet and ankles in the water, or collecting seashells in the early morning or at night. Quite enjoy feeling the breezy wind and enjoying the smell of the sand and the ocean no matter what time of the day or night. Quite enjoy listening to the waves crash on the shore as well. I am not too fond of getting far in the water, can't stand getting saltwater in my eyes or mouth.

I love the mountains, but I can't stand the beach. I hate sand.

I find sand annoying only if it gets in my shoes (if my feet are bare, it's fine; it just gets caught in the crevices of shoes for a while), but I do like the beach and the ocean.

Mountains -- actual mountains, as opposed to hills -- are something I'd rather look at.
