I noticed that as well.

I wouldn't have the heart to be able to effectively do triage in a disaster.
I'd be the guy told to "hold this belt tight and comfort this person" because that's all I'd be able to do.
Or bring water if there were a known source of water.
I'd need the leader person to tell me what to do.

So you're a normal person. Also, water is very important.

It depends on who the English teacher is. Practically no one chooses to read books from before 2015 anymore.
Is the new stuff really good? I've seen some of the movies, but mostly only read old stuff, Asimov, Anthony, Dick, Herbert, etc.

The new stuff is awful. The Martian by Andy Weir is from 2014, if I remember correctly, and it's the closest to being good that's new. And then the movie ruined it.

I'm elderly, liked the movie but I haven't read the book.
I am considered ignorant of sci-fi in that I also enjoyed Star Trek V: Final Frontier, and I liked the David Lynch movie of Dune better than the book, and even David Lynch didn't like that movie.

Don't suppose you visited a UPS warehouse? Cos that sounds like something they would say.
One time, a guy I knew got hit by a car on his way to work. He went to work anyway because the adrenaline blunted the pain at first, but once the adrenaline wore off and he really started to feel how badly hurt he was, he asked to go home. His boss tried to make him stay and he had to argue about it before he was allowed to leave.

Yeah. It makes sense to me, too.
One time I had an asthma attack at work -- this would be back when I was working on the shop floor of a supermarket, *cough*-teen years ago -- and I couldn't recover my breath with the inhaler. My manager asked if I could wait a few hours until my shift was over before I went to A&E for oxygen.
Incidentally, I said no, and she relented when my lips started to turn purple.

UPS and a supermarket are both crazy, I learned today.
Are you okay?
