Usually a felon is barred by law from election to such positions, or from occupying them if they win(every state has different rules).
Also bear in mind that some states allow felons to regain their gun rights- in Texas, IIRC, for felonies under a certain threshold after five years from release with no crimes other than a class c misdemeanor(what normal people call minor traffic offenses).

I kind of want that. I wonder how much steel plate a projectile from that thing could go through.

From a legal stance, aren't 37mms semi-less restricted than 40mms?

According to Wikipedia, they don't fall under the NFA unless you want to fire "destructive devices" or anti-personnel rounds. I think I'm reading that right.

I found a round that is an anti-individual round that upon impact releases OC powder. That is right, not only do you get spanked in the chest, you get pepper-sprayed too. I call it the Dick-shot because of the "fleshy" or peach colored texture it has. Unfortunately, it is only in 40mm.

AFAIK the DoD classifies it as a smoke round, I don't see why the NFA should be any different. *snort*

Oh children!
Today my oldest kid asked out of the blue, why I reload ammo and said, "over the years I've watched you tinker around with those presses, make/fabricate things to aid in your reloading, wouldn't it be easier to just buy the ammo?"
Of course I replied that reloading allows me to take control of the quality of the ammo I shoot, try different load outs for the best performance/grouping, ends up being cheaper than buying and when ammo is scarce because of shit like "operation virus freakout" or riots/looting, hurricanes/tropical storms and people make a run on ammo, I just reload and have all the ammo I can make.
Also threw this in, it's good for the earth since I save my brass and pick up brass from the range and the brass that is showing signs of stress, I toss in a bucket and when I have enough to discard I drive down to the scrap yard and they pay me money for my old brass. It's a win-win kiddo. After all of that, all I get is an "OH"

Plus there is an old guy in the neighborhood that brings me buckets of brass, his brother in law runs a gun store/shooting range and for his trouble I reload a few of his handgun ammo that he shoots. Although he's told me he now has more than enough ammo to last him for quite a while and that he doesn't need any more and that his ol lady is giving him grief, HAHA.

I've always been a tinkerer, see a problem fix a problem type mentality, guess it's all part of growing up poor and the need to make things to do work and make chores easier, work smart not hard I say, if it doesn't exist, make it/invent it.

I plan on getting into reloading eventually. I'm already the sort who would rather fix something then replace it, or build it myself.

On reloading, something I needs to start, what is the best set up to get started with?
___|_|___ _|__*__|_

Zombie Ike/Teddy Roosevelt 2020.

Novus America represents my vision of an awesome Atompunk near future United States of America expanded to the entire North American continent, Guyana and the Philippines. The population would be around 700 million.
Think something like prewar Fallout, minus the bad stuff.

Politically I am an independent. I support what is good for the country, which means I cannot support either party.

I prefer Dillion Precision. You can save money on getting a manual indexing press instead of a progressive press

update:

Scoped a mosin with a weaver rail and an old Bushmaster Sharpshooter 4x32 from 1968 that used to live on a 20 gauge pump-action slug-chucker.
(is diagnal-mount, so will still feed strippy-clippies and retains the iconic factory-bolt)

Anywats. Was considering how to embiggen a .308 jacketted bullet out +0.003" via enamel or powder-coating (and then resizing it down to .311 in case I went overboard spray-painting them). Was just wondering if the stuff would even stick to a copper-jacket.

Incidentally it was an all-matching 1943 high roundwall early wartime emergency model with a mixed bag of Tula and Izzy parts.

Powder-coated cast bullets tend to enlarge the OD of a bullet by 0.003", which may be just enough to make a 0.308 match a 0.311 to fit down a .310/.312 of a 91/30 Mosin.
--I may refit the rail with a 4x32 TruGlo if durability is an issue, or upgrade it to a 3-9x32 Tasco (the x32 is due to the low-mount on the rail to limit the amount of offset to the scope)

Honestly considering Elvis's 140 for 4 method of powder-coat
