anyways the PMAG adventures continue with the AR-18. I bought a set of files at Home Depot which I used to take the upper edge of the "slot" up a bit. The PMAGs now feed, but only time to time, as I have traded the problem of "doesn't seat at all" to "seats a millimeter too low." I may need to actually measure this shit out with calipers or something but it surprises me that out of all the places the 18 chooses to have a tight tolerances it chose the magazine catch.

The original AR-15s probably had the same issues until M4 feed ramps got milled into the chambers.
Not sure if AR-18s can take AR-15 barrels to test that theory with.
Thankfully, the AR-18'd P-mags can likely still find use in an AR-15.
-When you figure out where to put it, I suggest making a jig.

It's not so much "feed ramp" so much as the "bolt misses the next round entirely some of the time." I want some AR-18 mags I'm ok with mistreating, which means the actual production aluminium mags are right out, so are the unobtainium polymer mags from the 80s. The only company which makes them is Thermold, and they are shit so I would rather avoid having to buy them if at all possible.
