I'm afraid that ship has sailed. Of the multiple claimants to be the authentic foreskin of Our Lord, the last known survivor was stolen in 1983.

What if it was stolen by scientists for this very purpose? For all we know, Clone Jesus could already be among us.

I was born in 1984. Just sayin

The mythological Final Judgement shall not come from you, then. Cloning technology was rather lackluster back then.

Or so they claim. And it is telling that one of the first succesfully cloned mammals was a sheep.
A Dutch sheep.

As religious doctrine clearly states, the Lord is not a sheep, he is a shepherd.

No, you can't clone minds personalities or souls.
Honestly, I think that the question is just intentionally provocative tho.

Let us clone Moses, Muhammad, Buddha, Confucius, Mahavira, Zeno of Citium, Joseph Smith and L Ron Hubbard...
And then, Have them fight each other to the death on a remote island in a televised Battle Royale event! Think of the ratings we'd get!

The guy who made Zeno's Paradoxes? Screw him, he was bad at math. Clone Diogenes the Cynic, when he heard the Paradoxes, he stood up and walked away. ;)

What if we just clone him for the meat and blood ? We can then stop eating those dry hostias and sipping poor quality wine .

Nonsense, this is a perfectly normal and reasonable thread for this time of the year.

Yeah, I'm not sure about anybody else but I think cloning is just creepy. I understand that our cells do that for asexual reproduction but that happens in nature. I just think it's weird for man to play God, to a certain extent, and make a creature from another one in an unnatural way. And plus, I believe that animals have souls, not spirits like humans, and to just clone something like that and not letting nature do it's job then that animal has no soul. Anything could inhabit that vessel body once it's made.

But I'm just speculating.

To make it more general: people will try and clone famous people from the past. Jesus is just one of the more controversial ones to do it too.

No longer satisfied with metaphorical cannibalism? It would deepen the religious experience to a level most people try to avoid for good reasons.

I won't. I never talked about a soul in my post in the first place.

We could also start a fast food chain selling Jesus burgers, you know, to raise money for the church.

Seems reasonable. A more logical view is that the mind is a function of the brain, and copying the brain copies the mind. As cloning does not actually copy the brain, it would not copy the mind. Souls don't enter into this, as they don't exist.

Just do not give the clone a brain. After all - what is more deplorable - feasting on the flesh of a cute lamb, stolen from its mother while it was playing in the fields, or feeding on a mindless husk of meat grown specially for that purpose ?

True. It's all about the bio-engineers and the flesh growing in artificial wombs, soon to be a legion of baby Jesuses.

Yeah but what's the purpose of the army? Starting another Crusade?

After re-inventing technology from the ground up, Apple is moving in a new direction.
We want to bring the consumer an experience like no other. An experience so vividly real that it itself is an illusion of reality within reality.
Introducing, iJesus. The next step of cloning technology.

THE FLESH IS THE CRUSADE. THE FLESH IS GOD. THE FLESH IS SALVATION.
