I’m rather torn on this. On one hand, I find it morally wrong to control what one can and cannot wear within reason. On the other hand, the burqa, being that it hides the face, could be potentially used to aid in crime. Not to mention that this isn’t the first time that Denmark has banned cultural practices that are rather abusive if not oppressive, such ss nonmedical circumcision for minors. Overall I’d say that I’m against this but understand Denmark’s concerned. Is there a variant of the burqa that doesn’t cover the face?

It's not frequent where I live either, but I would still like to set the standard that Islamic headwear is not encouraged in Western society. Adopting Western dress and customs is one step closer to assimilation into society.
