The reason Due process exists is not to provides rights to citizens, but to limit the power of the State. If we allow the state to suspend Due Process for illegal immigration, then they are allowed to effectively do whatever thry wish whenever they wish to whiever they wish under the assumption that the person is an illegal immigrant. Even if you are a citizen, you will have no right or ability to actually prove your citizenship, because the laws protecting you no longer apply to that offense.


Not only are you considered guilty until proven innocent, but the State will decide when or if you can even prove yourself innocent.

No. Fortunately, just because the President says it doesn't make it true. The president's power is remarkably limited in scope and ability, and he has very little ability to actually do anything about it. He just *wants* to, as do his supporters.

I think people should distinguish between news and opinion, generally news is fairly balanced whereas opinion is wildly biased these days. A good while ago there were very few opinion columns in media, essentially it was the editorial.

At some point columnists became celebrities in their own right, part cued from 24hr TV news.. and now it seems there's more opinion than news.

Yet I guess they did it because people want it, facts are tedious when they don't accord with one's worldview.
