It's real. I read about it becoming basically the favourite food of the Confederate army during the civil war so I tried it once. Old squirrel you need to stew for ages before it become edible, young squirrel is much more tender.

Even if you know the bad guy isn't going to drop the gun, it's always a good idea to shout "Drop the gun!" before you shoot him. It just looks better. I strongly suspect Kim will want a deal he can break quietly, Trump will refuse any deal that isn't packed with verification, and he'll be able to say he did the best he could to prevent what he does next from being necessary.

Trump hopefully isn't dumb enough to start a war. North Korea is still essentially guaranteed by China and it would be a huge roll of the dice on whether or not this results in ww3. Even if it were to become a proxy war we are talking about millions dead at a moment when even the "special Ally" probably would condemn the actions.

I hope he doesn’t roll the dice that our anti-missle system will be enough to save Los Angeles or San Francisco.

Nobody wants what’s coming, but it isn’t avoidable. The United States has been very clear - it will not tolerate a North Korean regime with the capability to strike the mainland. It can’t let that happen. China doesn’t get to decide if we’re okay with that, we do.

If China wants to prevent war, it could shut down Kim at any point.

I doubt there is going to be a nuclear exchange. Trump would be declared unfit to serve and be removed via the 25th amendment.

I remember some article in the Atlantic that predicted a continuation of the status quo. A sanctioned NK with a nuclear threat but unwilling to ever use it for fear of the consequences.

Solar energy techs, wind energy techs, programming, nursing and lab work, trade jobs like welding and construction, I could go on. The government is offering all of these retraining programs, a lot of them for free or almost free, and yet miners there aren't taking them even though they offer more money and are much safer than mining.

Because no one's taking the bloody retraining offers. How is this so difficult for you to comprehend?

The place has great potential for wind and solar energy, as well as the fact that it needs better infrastructer and bigger hospitals (Hint, construction and trade jobs are a great way to fix this). But since you've shown that you don't think in the long term, it's not surprising you didn't piece these together.
