Heck, Tom doesn’t even have to be involved in the firefight. He can be the getaway driver, not even have a gun, and still get charged with murder.

Ultimately, all rights have a price. France is willing to pay the blood price for right of travel. Otherwise you may not ban cars, but you would governor them all at 25 mph. Not a ban, but an excessive restriction.

France is not willing to pay the blood price for right of self arming. So it didn’t ban guns, but did put in excessive restrictions.

We’re willing to pay the blood price for freedom more than you. That’s it.

But, somewhat annoyingly, apparently not willing to pay the cash price to fund a proper mental healthcare system that might actually reduce said blood price.

Victims of mental illness are more likely to self-harm than harm others, though. Blaming those dealing with mental illness for shootings only services to reinforce negative stereotypes and encourage people not to speak out because suddenly they have something in common with a bunch of school shooters.

I'd love to increase help to those people, but, honestly, not like this.

America's Electoral College is the worst blend of collectivism and individualism. Nobody thinks they matter, so they don't vote, but this chunk is large enough to swing elections.

I figure voter registration should be done automatically through filing taxes, and anyone who doesn't file taxes has to fill out a massive and discouraging amount of paperwork in order to vote. That should clear things up nicely.
