Still, we can sit down with a haggis and irn bru and celebrate that it didn’t come home.

Pathetic football, pathetic style, pathetic reliance on refereeing decisions, pathetic country.

And now this victory is made even sweeter by the salt of the Godon's tears at us easily rekt-ing the team which kicked them out of the game like skrubs.
Ah, vraiment magnifique! And just the day after the Fête Nationale too! ;D

They still would have won in extra time.

We had tense gameplay, lots of good passing, good looking goals, some fantastic goal chances, no controversial judging and just great football overall. We even had a couple really funny moments like that silly mistake that lead to a goal. The only thing lacking was the fact that there were far too many fouls. But even there the game was better than the rest of this kickboxing tournament.

Someone is salty.
The French playing style is obviously a winning one unlike the rest of them. So it’s not really pathetic

No they wouldn't - before Croatia got justifiably demotivated, Croatia had to score a goal for France themselves as a charitable deed, and then their second came from a dodgy refereeing decision. At half time only one goal was scored and that was from Croatia.

Yea, but Mbappe and Pogba had those two goals. Without Lloris being a cocky guy, it would have been 4-1

France's 2018 World Cup win is as pathetic as Greece's 2004 European Championship win.
That is to say - everyone will remember it as undeserved and a mistake, and will skip the year when talking about winners. That they won is irrelevant, they won in shame.

On the contrary. 2018 presented possibly one if the most exciting world cups in history. So many plottwists, so many goals, so many firsts... And lasts. FRANCE winning thus like they have, in such a tense, exciting game is just the feather in the cap.
Well, time for me to utterly lose interest in football for the next 4 years.

"Everyone" meaning in that sentence "an handful of slavs and anglos for who salt is no mere condiment but rather a lifestyle".
