I was disappointed when both Messi and Suarez dropped out of the tournament. That and Japan. I really wanted Japan to go places. Loosing them made me sad. :(

But like to see someone just miss the whole goal. That's just bad.
Purpelia does not reflect my actual world views. In fact, the vast majority of Purpelian cannon is meant to shock and thus deliberately insane. I just like playing with the idea of a country of madmen utterly convinced that everyone else are the barbarians. So play along or not but don't ever think it's for real.

The above post contains hyperbole, metaphoric language, embellishment and exaggeration. It may also include badly translated figures of speech and misused idioms. Analyze accordingly.

Hrvatska! I can't really believe it. But they really did it!
Not that I were absolutely sure they're gonna be World Champion (although I'm the last one who'd mind), but they've done a nice job so far, with just some flaws. This is gonna be exciting.
Since Lillorainen's geography is currently being overhauled a 'tiny' bit, most information on it posted before December 12, 2018, is not entirely reliable anymore. Until there's a new, proper factfile, everything you might need to know can be found here. Thank you. #RetconOfDoom (Very late update, 2020/08/30 - it's still going on ...)

Sharania wrote:Has Putin Fixed the World Cup?

A few years ago, a chance encounter between former spy Christopher Steele (now of the Steele dossier fame) and an F.B.I. agent at Trump Tower opened the door to a multi-year investigation into the massive corruption taking place at FIFA, the world soccer federation. Ken Bensinger, author of the new book Red Card: How the U.S. Blew the Whistle on the World’s Biggest Sports Scandal, joins Inside the Hive to tell a wild and crazy story that involves the mob, British spies, a 450-pound informant who gets around on a mobility scooter (with a parrot on his shoulder), Vladimir Putin, Robert Mueller, a soccer-obsessed I.R.S. agent in Orange County — and tangentially, none other than Donald Trump. We also discuss if Putin might have already fixed who fixed the World Cup. Guess who he might want to win?

Croatia, England, France or Belgium?

Clearly not Russia, anyway.

If nothing else, at least today's second result will put to bed the idea that this World Cup has been 'fixed' in Russia's favour. The 2018 home team had a good tournament and overperformed; but they didn't overperform as much as South Korea overperformed in 2002, nor did they benefit as much from questionable refereeing decisions.

So let's move on.

Dont be silly, Putin ordered the national team to throw the match or face perpetual gulag, in to put off the scent so they can absolutely dominate in 2022. Spain never played poor, it was just fixed. Saudia and Egypt weren't rubbish, that was just rigged too. Uruguay's win was also scripted. Impossible for Russia to be ok.

Just like the US election, amirite guys xaxaxa)))

That would be quite refreshing and just what most sports need.

Ok not a conspiracy then just an incredibly weird world cup. I want Belgium if they start playing Boyats again or England.
It's weird that England and France are least underdog teams there (have won a world cup).

If Russia so much as win a single game - no, if they so much as qualify for Qatar 2022, I am telling you, it is obvious match fixing, FIFA rigging, and direct collusion between Russia and Qatar alongside OPEC in order to raise the oil prices. You cannot defeat my logic. Totally not a conspiracy or propaganda. Remember guys, they are weaponising the giant squid too! Obviously... right?

None of the British politicians will be attending the World Cup. It was decided after Russia dumped a nerve agent in Salisbury.
