Yep, you're blind. The Croat hit the ball with the hand first, and the arms were away from the body. That's pretty much the definition of handball.

No they won't.

Qatar has already announced that it will relax the law on public drinking - at the requirement of FIFA - to allow alcohol to be served in the stadiums and in dedicated fan zones.

I've previously worked in Qatar, for what it's worth.

Those fan zones where they will allow it are going to be tiny and very far away from the stadiums, probably not even in the city. It's still banned in public.

There is nothing dodgy about it. You can clearly see how the guy jumped with his hand raised and than slammed it down to stop the ball. It's as obviously deliberate as the famous Maradona goal.

Shiver me timbers, somebodies triggered. France had a clear goal-scoring opportunity denied by a handball, and hands were in a rightfully questionable position for VAR to feel like they had to itnervene. Pretty sure the ref wasn't going to give it until VAR intervened. The fact that the ref went to check VAR twice... yeah, I'm pretty sure he's made an informed decision. Penalty all day, every day, and this is coming from someone who wants Croatia to win. As for the penalty itself, it was decently struck but not the best. Goalkeeper could have saved it if he went the right way.
