It is good to see Mexico doing well though. And that German back line is gonna look a lot worse against Brazil or Spain if they don't get their shit together.

Man, it's gonna suck when the inevitable reverse of BRA71L happens.

Good on Mexico for beating the '14 WC champions though, that was stellar.

Mexico just played better yesterday. They deserved to win. That being said, Germany had better be better in their next game. I want to see them win.

Germany and an overconfidence of their situation in Russia really never pair well together. :P

Good gosh. It really isn't great, though.

I see Germany doesn't care about defense this world cup. Score would have been even wider if Chicharito didn't suck lol.

EURO is just a trial run, it’s not as official.

It must happen in FIFA.

Otherwise I shall not be satisfied. So long as Germany remains very strong in FIFA... France can never truly be Number One.

I think Brazil might never truly recover from the Germany game from last worlds. It is most unfortunate.

Tbh I wouldn't mind having the world cup more often in place of the continental cups. This is my favourite football event!

It was mine, until the Germany - Mexico game.

It is fun to watch other people care about football, though.

They're both official events.

World cups are Europe cups with Brazil and Argentina participating :^)

It's only so special because of the 4 year gap. No-one gives a toss about Athletics until the Olympics, after all.

Sweden and South Korea were both rubbish and violent. Sweden were lucky that they got to take a penalty, because there's no other way they could have scored.

I'm not terribly happy with the quality of refereeing at this WC. Stopping the play where it was - despite it being a clear penalty that should gave been given instantly (the ref had a clear view, cmon,...) - is such a bad move, since South Korea very well could have equalized right there imo. I think the ref's are too dependant on VAR instead of making calls themselves.

I thought if Sweden had someone who could finish they would have won that comfortably, they were definitely better than SK.

They should have let the ball go out of play to then go back and look at it but thankfully it wasn't needed as it was a penalty. From some of the angles it wasn't as obvious as others so I understand why the ref could have not given it - but thankfully it was was because of VAR. The refereeing standard at this tournament has been pretty good I thought, far better than the previous two and lots of correct penalty decisions - this one was correct too despite the messing about. Only one you can complain about is France's one against Australia but which I felt could have gone either way.

Belgium vs Panama is quite a sedately paced match.
