Some were truly excited and having hope of a resolution. As conflicts go, this one has been dragging since the mid 1950s. It would have been great to see, finally, an end to it. However, historically, NK is always doing this so many of us weren't hopeful about it.

Ohh that's right, because the US doesn't necessarily want peace. They want another puppet on the border with China. Some day we're going to have to learn our lesson the hard way. If I were in charge, I'd fund North Korea's electric grid and interweave it into South Korea's power grid and vice versa, that way their own prosperity is dependent on them getting along, maybe even laying the first of the foundation for a unified Korea. I think climate change is a bigger problem, and an North Korea is probably the only industrialized country on earth with an undeveloped power grid. This is their chance to become a green energy model for the world. If trump had any sense, he'd deal with korea in way that created peace but also allowed him to take credit for "saving the world", dealing blows to two issues at once.

North Korea intends to confront the USA for pressuring allies South Korea to break an agreement in place. Currently, "the future direction of the North-South relations is entirely south Korean authorities". This should not be this way
