Generally, when medieval chroniclers refer to rapine, it denotes taking people captive as opposed to sexually violating them. In the case of young women especially, virgins got you more bribe money. Some of my favorite poetic works portray or insinuate rape as an extension of masculine virtue - such as the Iliad. This doesn't mean that they're wholly without redeeming value. That said, rape is bad.

Most Classical Greek men were misogynists at the time to be fair. Their society was a great deal more patriarchal than our own.

If I remember the accounts pertaining to the abduction of Helen by Theseus, he kidnapped her and planned to force her into a marriage, but never consummated anything. Castor and Pollux came down hard on Athens before he could and carried their sister back home. Consent wasn't really a prominent feature in Greek mythology either. Sexuality and violence were often strongly linked. The whole mindset is quite alien from our own.
