I honestly believe in Egoism. All human morality wouldn't be a thing, if we didn't need to please others, for material, or psychological reward. Since we don't have an innate instinct to, say, save people from a burning building, but society makes it out to be a noble act, for which one should be commended, then we have more inclination to do it. So we are moral for our own self-interest.

Then why do people do things that go against society?

Because society may not conform to our self-interest perfectly.

That is actually a really common belief amongst communists and anarchists. They are often at least as homophobic as nazis.
