It means low taxes, deregulation and privatisation, how is that meaningless?

It advocates things that everybody would like in theory, but wouldn't actually work in the real world. Calling yourself a reckless spender wanting to increase regulation on companies is tantamount to political suicide in the US, which is where the term is used most.
And most liberal democracies are hardly fiscally conservative by that definition, by the way.

Yep. Finding an ideology among Trump supporters will be exceedingly difficult, unless you take the approach of e.g. Cas Mudde and call populism a "thin ideology".
I'm not afraid that a particularly large fraction of Trump voters or supporters are (neo-) Nazis or Fascists. I'm more afraid of their apparent propensity towards apologising his (neo-) Nazi and Fascist supporters and Trumps own authoritarian actions.

To me it really shows the necessity of a real leftist movement in the US. Many of these voters react to a combination of economic duress and the loss of privileges that made their prior position acceptable (The ruling ideology of the superstructure coopting a large part of the population through non-economic privileges), which should make them ready for a socialist or socialdemocratic message, but as long as there are only the space for two nationally viable parties and one is the Democrats, that's unlikely to happen.
