I live with a bunch of conservatives (forgive them Stalin, for they know not what they are doing.) and even they are admitting that capitalism isn't as great as they once thought.

Same. The past two years or so really changed (and, imho, improved) my way of thinking when it comes to many people who are to my right. From my interactions with them, I get the idea that most people (or, at least, most people who are employees), regardless of where they stand on the political spectrum, can at least tell that there's something messed up with the economic system, even if they are reluctant towards speaking in terms of "capitalism". I think it might be specially true of everyone who is working within a corporate structure and sits near the bottom of it.

I think it's a shame that they keep getting suckered into capitalists like Trump who run on promises for the people, but then go on to continue the wars and preserve capitalism. I was a Trump supporter during the election, but his Syria strike last year made me reconsider, and now I'm a commie because I did some hard core reconsidering.

A major reason the right wing keeps winning is the dysfunctional nature of the progressive left on issues of sexism and racism. Most people are capable of seeing through their bullshit. It's difficult to convince people to support a party that actively hates their guts and wants them subjected to unfair treatment.
Ostro.MOV

There is an out of control trolley speeding towards Jeremy Bentham, who is tied to the track. You can pull the lever to cause the trolley to switch tracks, but on the other track is Immanuel Kant. Bentham is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Critique of Pure Reason. Kant is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Principles of Moral Legislation. Both men are shouting at you that they have recently started to reconsider their ethical stances.

Doesn't line up with the figures.

Millenials are heavily socialist according to polls, but the Democrats have lost about 10 points with them over the last year due to Millenial Whites deciding to back the republicans en masse. This hasn't occured with Millenial Racial Minorities, and White Male Millenials are most likely to back the republicans.

It's enough to have put the Democrats at risk of losing the mid terms.

Tbf, a lot has been written in the past couple years, after the whole "disenfranchized white working class gave us Trump" media zeitgeist dissipated, about how the core of Trump's support doesn't really come from what we might call the proletariat, but from the petty bourgeoisie (or, to put it in non-Marxist terms, not the working poor, but the suburban mid-upper and upper class).

We are all vulnerable to getting suckered into voting against our own interests over a wedge issue or a simplistic, comforting lie, but those who are really negatively affected by the socioeconomic awfulness of capitalist grifters like Trump won't stay undyingly loyal to them unless they are kept insulated from the truth of it. Which is why I'm deeply concerned by the rise of the Sinclair Broadcast Group. Mass media is already monopolized enough as it is, without adding in a monopoly over local news outlets.

"Two years ago, young white people favored Democrats over Republicans for Congress by a margin of 47 to 33 percent," reports Reuters, but "that gap vanished by this year, with 39 percent supporting each party."

The outlier here is white male millennials, who do actually show a strong tilt rightward.

In 2016, young white men favored Democrats 48 percent to 36 percent
This year, they preferred Republican candidates to Democrats by 46 to 37 percent

It seems these days people only care about "triggering le libtards" or "smashing le russkie republicans".
This tribalism is encouraged to keep the working class divided. This pattern started with Obama, establishment vs "populist". It was Obama that was the populist, and MCcain was the establishment, now it has flipped. This act will keep America capitalist for at least the next generation.

For the same reasons they wouldn't shut the fuck up with the triumphalist nonsense during the Clinton primary and campaign, they don't like Trump and the media is full of hacks who are in hoc to the status quo, and they're part of this weird cultish mentality where they think just angrily demanding everyone go along with what they insist is cool and hip is a sufficient standin for actual policies and campaigning properly.

See; The Clinton Campaign.

Why don't we combine communism/socialism with capitalism, then we can all be happy!
This nation a funsion between capitalism and social democracy (the only type of socialism made to actually be incorporated into capitalist governments rather than trying to destroy it).

This nation is PMT/FT. Sometimes modern tech.

We sometimes use pokemorphs and digimon in our armed forces. Sometimes

We are technically centrist.

This nation is a reunited Yugoslavia (and also sometimes controls the UK as well).
