Conservative religious practice, which gets most of the public's the attention, is associated with the right. However, historically, many of the greatest saints, heroes, and heroines who are now championed by some conservative religionists were anything but conservative. They broke with tradition and challenged religious authority. The same is true today.

The Pope was talking about socialism. Positively.

To reference a certain musical, Jesus Christ, this will be fun!

I saw mention of it on my favourite communist-hating website for the first time just now.

Although in serious, from what I've heard (haven't done much personal research) the Empire of Brazil was pretty close to the ideology I lean towards.

Genuine constitutional and absolute monarchies typically give higher clergy seats in the government automatically. The House of Lords for example includes all Anglican bishops, although the House of Lords is impotent today (and the UK is hardly a monarchy )

Actually, DI seems to have put a good deal of thought into her positions and is definitely very intelligent, though I disagree with her on much.

Hence "acts", as in "acts stupidly in a playful, mocking manner". I totally agree on them having well thought out points.

I remember when Pope Paul tried his best to kill liberation theology in the 1960s and 1970s. For the most part, he succeeded, at least among the Latin American Jesuits.

Can I see some sources for that? Cause everything I learned about liberation theology came from Philippine Jesuits, some of whom were taught by Latin American Jesuits.

So...thoughts on EU article 13 and 11?
Yugoslavia's back baby...

How the hell did this happen?
Well...we don't actually know. Just sort of happened one day.
Is it a reunited Yugoslavia in the 21st century? Is a rebel colony world in the far future? Is it a race of cyborg neo-life at war with any assimilating organisms they come across in the far far future? Who knows, who cares?
New Yugoslavia just is.
