What do people here think of anarcho-transhumanism? I think the flag is pretty cool, but otherwise I don't really have an opinion on it.

I mean, given the fact that I'm terrified of my own mortality and I haven't found my way back to religion yet, it sounds alright.

I've actually been thinking for a while about the long, long, long, loooooooooooong term implications of transhumanism. Like, what it's gonna be like millions or billions of years from now when transhumanist advances have delivered us immortality, and technology grants us full control over the rest of existence on every level? What if we could, conceivably, make ourselves and the universe truly eternal? What would that do to our minds in the long run?

I really doubt that the universe could be made eternal unless we become so technologically advanced that we can transcend reality, and I don't know that I want to live in that world.

Nice thing to have ideally.
But practically speaking the Transhumanist movement in general is more of a hype train than anything else.

This in itself isn't a bad thing but there's needs to more focus on the problems of the here and now rather than waiting for the gamechanger and/or dreading AI world vore.

I used to have sympathies towards fascism, but the ethnic nationalist bits of it and national socialism as a whole are just disgusting and obviously genocidal ideologies. Fascism itself has too many variants and forms to be wholly used as an umbrella term at nazis.

Ah. Climate change implies the first, though I think carbon capture and storage technology may be our savior. If we can get past that obstacle, there are other potential dangers -- if the last remaining humans are on Mars, a mass extinction event like an asteroid could occur and end our species; if we continue on our scientific path and create an AI too powerful, it could choose to annihilate humanity; etc.
As for the second, it's taking the simplest solution when evidence cannot prove or disprove whether humans can actually completely escape the laws of physics through technology.
