Boy Scouts of America is now dropping the boy from its name and will now be known as Scouts BSA. This change was caused because the boy scouts have now decided to allow girls to join their organization.

This decision has caused a lot of out cry across the internet, with some of it actually coming from the Girl Scouts of America.

What are your thoughts on this new change?

Girl Scouts has stated that they have no intentions of changing their name.

I personally am fine with it. The Girl Scouts negative response to the change though has left a sour taste in my mouth though.

I believe it is very similar to that. I believe it was a few of the major boy scout leaders who made a decision for the group, although they were most likely voted into their position by those who chose to vote.

The historic youth organization announced today that their program for children 11 to 17 years old will be known as "Scouts BSA," starting in February 2019. Part of the reason for the change is that now girls will be invited to join the older kids' group -- and have the opportunity to advance to the highest rank, Eagle Scout.

The parent organization name will remain the Boy Scouts of America and the Cub Scouts program will keep its title, as well.

Maybe change the name of your parent organisation as well, guys. Just a thought.
