However, I'm not going to argue against the idea that terrorism is probably overused.
But if there is a political/ideological/religious reason for this guy's attack, then it's a terrorist attack.
I suppose it sits on whether the "incel revolution" or "killing girls because i'm a virgin" are actual ideological reasons
Which they aren't. They're warped thoughts of an insane mind.

Make time to talk to people. Go to the club, or the bar, or the library. Take painting or cooking or martial arts classes.
You'll never meet anyone if you don't, you know, attempt to meet anyone.
I hate doing all of those things. Clubs and bars are loud and the people there are awful. There's not many places to meet people if you only have niche interests. Libraries also aren't places to socialize.

There are museums. Landmarks. Parks. As for niche interests, you can find groups. My father was interested in WWII German aircraft and plastic models -- and as specialized as that population might be, he was able to find others who shared that interest.
I won't suggest it's easy, but if you do look to do something you enjoy, you'll likely find others who share that interest.

Not where I live. I live in a very rural area with no major metro areas nearby to find things like that. That's the way a lot of the socially isolated live. There's not much around for people in rural areas.

In that case I sincerely advise adopting a dog. Really.

Then the trick is to find a place where there are people that somehow involves those things and make yourself go even if it's hard.
You're in the US, finding religious groups shouldn't be that difficult.

You're throwing up objections. And that's normal.
Not many people is better than no people and it's your church so I assume you feel at least somewhat comfortable there. Talk to the people there outside of your friends. You already have something in common.

I do, but it still doesn't fill the void of not having a romantic partner.

It could be argued that most people that kill in the name of religions aren't sane people, so no, most terrorist groups of today aren't actually terrorists, just insane groups of people/sane people that use the ideological reason as an excuse.
One example of actual terrorists would be those that invade and kill to establish their own weak puppet states to do as they're told, for instance.

You have a weirdly narrow definition of terrorism

I don't, I just prefer the definition of terrorism that makes it a strictly political thing.
Anyone that kills for God is just insane.
At this point you may as well just concede that you're not using a definition of terrorism that relates to anyone else's, or to the vast plethora of "terrorism" in the world today, and are therefore wasting your own time, and everyone else's, on pedantry.
