Tesla is unreliable as shit, yes, and they're actually horrid cars imo. But, really, the appeal of an electric car is the selling point. Thankfully, we now have other more dependable and thoughtful companies (see Kia) making better and more affordable EVs that don't go to shit after a year.

Also the Rodeo is sick as fuck.

I've been driving my Rodeo for 29 years now and it has yet to let me down :)

Well, I just saw a Lexus lose a drag race to a semi on an uphill grade.

Pathetic.

Agreed. I've seen them on occasion, and they look pretty awesome. On the subject of Teslas, I think they're kind of overrated from what I've seen. I've never driven one, nor do I desire to.

Not even the best of non-autodrive cars, which a Lexis is not, can overcome a crappy driver.

So I'm worried that the internet is trying to tempt me into buying a WRX wagon. Mostly because my plan was to stick to the Sport for a lower tax bill.

...I mean, you gotta do what you gotta do. I'm not personally a Subaru fanboy, but I definitely get the appeal. Plus those WRX wagons are kinda unconventionally sexy imho.

I mean I'd prefer a WRX saloon because I was a WRC fangirl, but I'd also like the bigger trunk and I think the saloons are more expensive to insure and stuff.

You're definitely right about the insurance, if I'm not mistaken.

Meanwhile, in America, I'm just trying to find me a wagon/saloon that won't break my wallet. Absolutely love the things but they're in such short supply here because of our SUV craze.

Plus the Sport Wagon is more healthy for my savings account in general.

And yeah, insuring a Sport saloon would've cost me £865. The wagon would've been £758. The WRX wagon was about the same (£780) so I'm not sure how eye watering the saloon rate would be.

DID YOU KNOW: Japanese companies sell almost as much cars to America as American companies do to their own country?

I mean, makes sense, considering how well Toyota and Honda sell here. The Camry, Accord, and Nissan Altima are still the top 3 best selling cars.

In my area, I see the streets with more cars with the Lexus symbol (labeled: "luxury") than the Chevrolet. (A regular auto, non-luxury.)

Well a lot of that will depend on if you're looking at just 'cars' or trucks. Pickup trucks and large SUVs are big driving factors for the Big Three American companies.

The whole "did you know" isn't too wild though. Many countries are dominated by imports in certain markets.

I just got a second hand PS4 Pro and Gran Turismo and all my free cars are fucking WRXs. I like the WRX, but there are five cars in my garage and three of them are WRXs and one is a VW Bus because of course I'm going to get a Bus if it's in a game.

Also, since I haven't had a system since the PS2, I apparently have forgotten how to drive. I haven't gone online yet because I'd be a goon. It's embarrassing.

Anyway, I had a buddy who went from a WRX to an STi to a BMW 2 series. I think it was a goldilocks situation for him, the WRX was too mild, the STi was too hot, the 2 series is juuuuust right.

If I didn't have the stupid gene that makes me want cars for less than practical reasons I'd be leaning towards the Sport as well, but I'd probably just embrace the WRX and regret it cost wise later.

These are my loosely related thoughts on the WRX, apparently.

Really??!!

I mean, in my neighborhood it's mostly Japanese minivans all over the place, sometimes a Chrysler Pacific would pop in.

In Michigan its obviously biased, with so many people working in the car industry or related to someone who is; so the vast majority of cars are domestic, and what seems like half of the vehicles on the road are full size American pickup trucks. With how terrible the roads are, a pickup seems necessary sometimes. Back where I grew up in Pennsylvania it was rural with mostly used American cars, some European, not many Japanese.

Guessing you're in a family-dominated suburb, that you see so many minivans? There's only a few models since everybody wants SUVs and CUVs now, and the Pacifica is the only American one left, so that's to be expected.

That's not to say that the Japanese haven't come to dominate the industry, especially on the coasts here in the US they crush domestic competition in everything besides pickup trucks. But GM has partly made up for it with huge sales in China.

As an involuntary minivan connoisseur I have to say that Toyota earned their win. For straight up utility I never met a van as useful as the Caravan. I am a walking commercial for sto'n'go seating. But driving that thing was uninspired and dry and it felt old by the end of the rental when we'd get them almost new. But the Sienna, the Sienna drove like a car with a fat butt and if you were locked in it all day doing rounders you still had the best seat in the house. The Kia was passable and the Town and Country was kind of like talking to someone who is new money, trying to impress you with shit you don't give a crap about. The Chevys felt like homework that was done on the bus to school. No one even bothered to rent Ford minivan.

In full size vans there was something raw about the Chevys that was comforting, but that might be having a Chevy as a first car and my dad having both a C10 and an S10. All the others liked the Ford vans.

Though if I could get a Sienna that had seats that collapsed as fluidly and quickly as the Caravan's, that would be the perfect minivan. I haven't had to minivan in a few years, though, so things might have changed a bit.

I got to get a steering wheel. I found out if you get a Logitech 150 you also get a year subscription to iRacing. Provided I can de-goon myself, that'd be awesome. At the very least I can do the LeMons iRacing events.
