Don't forget the shitty build quality and a system seemingly designed to ensure that collision damage never gets fixed.

I prefer the word "safe". That is what the AU Falcon looked like, which was the beginning of the end for the Falcon in Australia/NZ.

A victim of Silcon Valley’s founder cult.
The person who comes up with the idea for a product is not necessarily the best to actually manage the company long term.
Musk, Zuckerberg and the like need to stop trying to be CEOs.
Entrepreneurs are not the best to run large companies.
Musk needs to be replaced by someone who has actual experience turning a car company around.

The ordinary businessmen often tend to forget that a carmaker needs some sort of image to be successful. An example is how Marchionne managed to turn FCA around by focusing Dodge on affordable, flashy performance, Alfa on sporty stylish cars, Jeep on badass-looking light trucks, etc...
Musk's vision at least helps that.

Still prettier than a contemporary Taurus . .

Went for a ride in it with my uncle, and was surprised by the legroom (though that's thanks to the high seating position) and how lively it was on the road in sport mode.

I see where they're coming from, Toyota has been giving them blue balls for the last six years about a new Supra only to reveal it's just a Z4 with mostly the same performance of the A80 that came out 25 years ago.

Neat, I always liked the Fiat 500.
Along with the A5 VW Beetle, I saw a brown convertible today with retro looking hubcap style wheels.

I don't like it. It looks a bit too cute.
I prefer the more serious-looking small cars, the ones that look like "I'm a small car, but I'm ballin' with the big ones" - Peugeot 108, Mini, etc.

I agree except I generally dislike small cars.
But yeah the Fiat is definitely too cute.
Though the car someone wants reflects certain aspects of their personality.

That's the reason I like them.
Sure, I could get a Golf, if they still make 2 door hatches. But the Beetle looks better, it's sweet!

Fair enough. But I am not a sweet person.
So would never drive a Fiat. Though I barely even see them here anymore.
Fiat had an aggressive advertising campaign but they never really caught on.
Americans are not a sweet people for the most part.

Except it did not. Despite the racey ads they have not sold well here.
It is hard to convince Americans a small hatch back is sexy.
The Escalade is American, loud, proud and large, rolling V8 powered and covered in chrome.
The Prius at least appeals to the green types.
I am not sure really what market they are going for with the Fiat 500 in the US.

New Beetle/Fiat 500/other sweet cars - official cars of smooth jazz, inspirational posters, Yankee Candle and Desiderata.
I'm wondering what would reflect my personality.
Does anyone know the official car of 70s classic rock, folded-out futons, procrastination and junk food?

Small car enthusiasts and cute girls, I guess.
