Yeah they sold the Opel/Vauxhall division to Peugeot.

Which is still outselling everything in its class except the Charger, despite no updates since 2014 and GM never advertising it anymore.

Just imagine what they could do with that rumored update it's supposed to have next year and some actual love from the PR department and that Impala SS we keep demanding.
but keep the Malibu around.

Anyone who would suggest dropping the Malibu is an idiot, the number of new Malibus I see on the road around here is insane.

The Charger does well because of its muscle car aesthetic.

The Malibu does well, though in a report, Ford will keep the Fusion a little longer at least until 2022, the Taurus is dead, it's slated to end by 2019, but keeping the Mondeo in other markets besides America.

Fullsize sedans are a small shrinking market, but I think the midsize isn't as a dead as Jim Hackett thinks it is, though not as big as it used to be, it's still significant.

Every single full-size car combined only outsold the Camry last year by 4000 units.

The midsize market definitely is not dead.

The European market is actually changing substantially, with Chevrolet being squeezed out by brands like Dacia and luxury brands like Audi and BMW who are moving downmarket. Mainstream brands like Ford and Opel are being squeezed too, so it makes sense that GM will try and make it's European operations more profitable. Chevrolet doesn't really have the same brand presence as Opel and Vauxhall do.

The Fusion isn't unprofitable, it's that it's not profitable enough.

Chevrolet exists to sell the Corvette and Camaro there.

Especially with some deals to move inventory, it's sad that less Americans are buying sedans, even though that will do them just fine.

Which is probably better given that the market for sports cars is, although filled with numerous manufacturers, isn't as cut-throat as mainstream markets.

The Corvette is priced higher, same price as some Porsche 911 models, but the Camaro base price works out to US$48,500. It's a completely different brand in Germany, they used to sell Korean made cars like the Matiz.

So yesterday I saw a Boxster with Ruf badges parked outside my place.

I'm inclined to say that it's a fake...

They mutilated the Camaro...... :(

Beautiful Fiero though! Progress on mine is steady, I should have her on the road very soon, I can't wait!!! I just have to redo the brakes, get a new radiator fan, and figure out why she's idling high. :p

That motherfucker was for sale for the low low price of $120,000.

My old friend went to fairs and shows and bought old cars, spruced them up, brought them back next year to sell at a profit, and used that to buy more cars.
He reimaged many Cadillacs, and made me laugh by describing that emissions scrubbing device as a "Cadillac converter". Never sure whether or not he was joking,

His favorite was an old Crosley he had rebuilt to perfection, original paint match and everything, It was nobody's ideal ride; for instance, the doors made a mild "click" when you slammed them shut. But as an example of what the car had been, it could not be better.
