Scout! My childhood friends dad only drove Scouts. Never even knew of it until meeting her. Looking back.. why didn't I ask to drive it? He was really cool I bet he would've let me and he knows I taught her how to drive a straight in my 87 Civic. If I could go out right now and buy what I wanted.. I'd get a small long-bed truck - probably a Toyota , a Subaru Outback (and have it lifted and modified) and... some type of luxury/sport coupe not certain what kind.

That's unfortunate. I too, would love to drive a Scout. They seem like such great vehicles

I'd dispute some of those, I actually don't think the Panamera is that ugly.

If the Honda Accord crosstour is on it, its Acura sibling should be on it too.

Hell, Acura's beak design at the time was definitely not a good look tbh

There's a great deal of early 2010s FCA products I'd throw on the list (IE the Nitro, which ended production in 2012), or the revamped Chrysler Pacifica which is such an eyesore. I'd tack on the Nissan Quest as well.

I absolutely adore the 2000s Volvo wagons. Suppose it's sentimental for me, first car I ever put my foot to was a bright red '01 Volvo V70 (my mom's old car). They're utilitarian tanks.

Teslas are way overpriced and overrated, so no thank you! I like my 2002 Toyota Corolla just fine. My dad bought it for me used 8 years ago and it has never broken down nor given me any trouble.

I've heard Tesla's reliability is hit or miss, generally, they have superb 0-60 times and fairly decent safety, but it doesn't justify the price tag or the batteries that aren't built to withstand too many miles.

Quite a few of the cars have the battery packs hand assembled, which means that if the individual batteries are too close together, they spontaneously combust.

As for the ugly cars, either my tastes have changed or I don't find most of those cars/SUV's ugly. Except for the one designed by the cosmetic surgeon. He ruins women for a living, so he ruins a car. Although it looks like something from 2000.

Yes, late 50s cars would be properly called “Mid Century Neo Futurist” or “Googie”, definitely not brutalist. Brutalism is big concrete blocks.
Calling late 50s cars Brutalist is like calling the Seattle Space Needle Brutalist.

New Jersey I suppose?
Doo-wop architecture (Doo-wop actually is originally a type of music very popular in the late 50s to early 60s), Googie and Mid Century Neo-Futurism are for all intents and purposes interchangeable terms. Raygun Gothic is another term you can use.
Atompunk is also possible but more for a general retro future aesthetic, not just the specific architecture.

Mid Century Neo Futurism the more “proper” with Doo-wop being the common or slang term in the New Jersey area and Northeast. Googie more the term in the West.

But it is of course as noted really in many ways the opposite of brutalism.

The only car design that would qualify as 'googie' would be the Oscar Meyer Wienermobile.

That would be an extreme example, but I think you could fairly call a 59 Cadillac Googie too.

Of course cars and building architecture are not the same thing, so directly trying to complare the two has difficulties. Regardless late 50s to early 60s cars are no way brutalist at all.

Brutalism is hulking blocks of unfinished concrete. Béton brut literally means “raw concrete”.
This is a really the only car you can really call brutalist  https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bison_c ... ured_lorry

Meanwhile Googie is light and airy, gravity defying and even outright fantastical, and spaceship and science fiction inspired.
Making something look like a late 50s to early 60s idea of a futuristic spaceship is very much Googie.

Zombie Ike/Teddy Roosevelt 2020.

Novus America represents my vision of an awesome Atompunk near future United States of America expanded to the entire North American continent, Guyana and the Philippines. The population would be around 700 million.
Think something like prewar Fallout, minus the bad stuff.

Politically I am an independent. I support what is good for the country, which means I cannot support either party.
