A performance Caprice fails to be a good US fullsize, and fails to be a good performance car. The mediocre of both worlds.

My favorite everyday/practical car is the Toyota 4Runner or the Rav4. I have had the opportunity to drive both and they handle very well. The former is great for it's carry capacity/some ability to handle rougher roads whereas the latter is just fun to drive.
Now my favorite impractical/dream car would have to be the 1932 ford Roadster. They are beautiful vehicles and perform well when properly maintained.

Those are dingies at best. If you want boats, late 50's to early 60's Chrysler is the American way to go, or 50s-60's Rolls and Bentleys for world wide.

But mid 90s cars are so bland and nondescript.

Honda made the Accord. The Ford Camry is a real rarity. It was only produced for the 1993 model year and only about 10,000 were manufactured before they were forced to cease production.
Oh right, I was thinking of the Honda Neon.
Also don't forget about the Chevrolet Corolla. It was attempt by GM to capture compact car market and to compete with imports.

None of those are a particularly good value now, and are all completely impractical and impossible to drive daily. I daily drive a 94' Town Car - yes, a panther body - and it is far from meh but also a competent daily driver. If you were going for a large American car that you didn't need to daily, a late 60s/very early 70s GM or FoMoCo premium/luxury model is a better bet anyway.
