#cursedimage /s

No, that is a PB&J (I assume) hotdog. Either that or the one bun was split in half, and then put on top of the other half, therefor it is a sandwich.

P.S. Dear Mods, if I posted it in the wrong spot, please tell me via forum post in this thread.

It's fine here but two sentences do not an OP make. You should provide you're opinion, your reasons, maybe some background on the sandwich as a thing. I believe there have been court cases about what constitutes a sandwich. Get hopping.

I personally do not think a hot dog is a sandwich. It is a sausage on a bun. Hamburgers, on the other hand, are.

Since you have expressed your opinion on the bun issue in your "voice of mod" color, Can we to assume this is the official position of moderation on the issue? That as far as NationStates is concerned sausages on a bun are not sandwiches , yet hamburgers are. ?

How do I get a second opinion?

If this abomination can be considered a sandwich, I have no qualms letting hot dogs be sandwiches.

No it isn't. It's two slices of bread that are connected at the edge. This comment really does anger me on a primal level.

And how do you presume the bread got to be connected at the edge, fusion?

Personally speaking, I am disgusted one would even think to lump my brethren in with these repulsive, inedible excuses for sausages.

We don't have a word for this because that's not a common piece of cuisine here (for good reason, that thing looks disgusting). I'd imagine most would say it's a sandwich, but it isn't by the technical definition.

A peanut butter hotdog. Sounds silly, but that's what I'd call it.

Half sandwich. Not a complete one. It is lacking.... half.

I swear i'm about to lash out at someone i'm that mad dude so I think I need to take a break from this argument. I leave for now with one last message - if this is a sandwich, then there is literally no reason that a hot dog isn't a sandwich. As long as there are two lobes covering the sandwich, it doesn't matter if they're connected or not.

And yet, Merriam-Webster dictionary sayeth:

Definition of sandwich

1 a : two or more slices of bread or a split roll having a filling in between
b : one slice of bread covered with food

That's pretty clearly heresy -- one slice of bread covered with food? Anyway, Dictionary.com says it's
two or more slices of bread or the like with a layer of meat, fish, cheese, etc., between each pair.

One split slice of bread is not two or more slices of bread.

That's why the connected aspect is a blind alley.. it has no bearing on whether it's a sandwich or not. The key is whether you can eat it in a default cold state.

"Subs" redirects here. For the film, see Subs (film).

They're sandwiches.
