IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW

Wait, so who's God? Is the Force equivalent to God?

Maybe. I mean, it provides an afterlife, is within us all, and has people killing each other over disagreements over it. So it's sort of like God...

The Emperor. Darth Vader would be Mankind (fallen and evil, redeemed by Luke Christ, and such).

That's just preference, I think. But I also find the whole concept of ritualistic faith to be really interesting.

I'd only find it interesting as a psychological study...

I picked Realitivism because Discordianism wasn't an option.

Interesting.

I certainly agree with the assertion that a lot of the benefits of religion are independent of their truth. It's one of the main reasons I'm not a 'down with all religion' type. That and personal freedoms.

It is also interesting to see a scientific explanation for religion, or an atheist explaining the benefits of religion.

I was coming home tonight by the train and I sat by 3 young dudes that were all reading the bible, but they were reading out loud and taking turns.
Can someone explain to me what this was? Some sort of christian jeopardy?

Having been raised Christian, it sounds like you witnessed the procedure of a blessing, Bible study, or "witnessing God".

Good point. Unless it is claimed that Satan created it.

God created Satan, so... still his responsibility.

If they were omniscient, that would mean they have full knowledge about the results of their action, and thus at least partial responsibility. Even after the birth omniscient entities will know what possible actions could divert him from such destructive path (and omnipotent entities could take such actions).
