Against it in all but its most mild forms. Secular is better - let people believe what they want, it's none of government's business what one believes. Obviously illegal acts done in the name of religion are still illegal.

Religious institutions should be allowed but forbidden from getting involved in party politics. I'm in favour of measures such as banning extreme forms of religious dress that inhibit integration and religious schools that encourage communities not to mix. If you don't want to get in the melting pot it's time to go home.

Outright banning religious faiths and trying to impose atheism is too far, it's not necessary and it doesn't benefit the nation or any community. What's the point?

It's a well-respected and interesting philosophical standpoint. One that I think is wrong, but worth more respect than you've afforded it. Spinoza was a solid thinker. Don't lump him in with the Deepak Chopra types.

And I can make similar arguments saying democracy is bad because of the U.S setting up internment camps for Japanese-Americans in WWII, or the Mexican government persecuting Catholics in the Cristero War in 1926(and yes, the Mexican government was democratic at that time)

(because, if we're going at it, every single theocracy ever has done something like an inquisition, just in different shapes and forms. You'll get "drop them into the well" instead of "burn them to the stake", and you get different victims etc.)

Or cutting out people's hearts, drawing and quartering people for being Catholic or Protestant, executing or murdering people for being of the wrong (or no) religion.
