The Swedes were consensus management. All the stakeholders had to agree before anything got done, even the guy who washed the floor of the lab to had agree.
The Germans were hierarchical top down management. The boss said, you did.
Yet the Swedes are known to get things done as well.

It was very interesting, once consensus was achieved they moved faster than any other company I have worked for, including brokerage houses. Also the internal pressure to conform was enormous, folks really didn't want to be the one holding up the project unless they had a very good reason for doing so.

Can I not work there? I don't like being under pressure.

Maybe something that involves minimal math.

Only Arch. None of the others are, though not everyone with the Gift reveals themself. Anyway, it goes back to this thread, viewtopic.php?f=20&t=77046, and kind of developed from there. The generally accepted Long-Lifes here are me, Arch, Gallo, Nana, Ifreann, and Riso. Monitor is a special case, being the reincarnated spirit of a warship. Not all of us are equally old. I'm older that all but Arch, who is a little cagey about his age. I've seen him claim 40,000 but no one is that old that I know of.

Well, you sort of lose track after the first 20,000 years or so.
In those days, in those distant days, in those nights, in those remote nights, in those years, in those distant years; in days of yore, when the necessary things had been brought into manifest existence, in days of yore, when the necessary things had been for the first time properly cared for, when bread had been tasted for the first time in the shrines of the Land, when the ovens of the Land had been made to work, when the heavens had been separated from the earth, when the earth had been delimited from the heavens, when the fame of mankind had been established...
Certainly I was a really wild man for the first few millenia until Shamhat calmed me down.
Sometimes I miss her (she really was luscious); other times I still get angry with her over this whole civilisation nonsense.
