A few years back, actually, even till now, I am still convinced that immortality is like the best thing ever if it's real. Err, ignoring the possible overcrowding that can happen.

Problem is, if you're the only one who's immortal, weird things can happen... Like here.

True. I met him toward the end of the 7th century. A Frankish trader I knew had heard of this crazy Hibernian on one of his trips to what's now Dublin, a young fellow who claimed to be a hundred years old. He'd rattle on about it to anyone who'd buy him a drink (people who don't know they have the Gift tend to self-medicate after a while, when they've outlived everyone they know). So I went to check him out and there he was, standing on the shore of the little lake where ships would come in to moor. I went down the plank the Franks set out for me. Iffy was leaning against a tree, I started to introduce myself and he threw up on my shoes. I knew right then we'd be friends. :)

Those were the good old old old... ancient days. When Gallo didn't write stuff on the walls of ancient world powers and when poor you didn't have to smuggle wine drinking Iffy from weddings for drinking all the booze, and have to concoct god sons turning water into wine stories.

Really hope my mother gets home, so I can have supper, since... well... I'm pretty much broke.

Besides the $100 bill I have, but I don't feel like a) going out to spend it so it can be useful, and b) risk it being refused. And of course, a cheque that I intend on depositing on Thursday before my final.
