Mhm, it's spreading very far from multiple facets at this point. Got a in case of terrorist incident booklet even getting the kids into crèche.

Crèche?

If the police or security fail it's a position where the gunner is capable of taking down trained combatants. Practicality, here, love, the school shooter would see a kid coming à mile off. Don't be giving kids ideas like that.

Anyone can get lucky and take out trained combatants. Kids can kill American soldiers in the Middle East.

Ideally the kids would be able to escape. But if they’re trapped in a classroom, or know their fellow students are trapped next door or the room across and about to get lit up, and they feel confident in their ability to neutralize the guy, then by all means, resist. It’s better than being dead.

Key word: Might. Probably more fitting would be "possibly".

And variables are what can both massively aggravate a situation as well as stop them. That kind of cynicism is not something to be used when it comes to the lives of minors.

I guess it's less cynical to argue that someone might be able to take down a shooter........?

It's stupid, I agree, but also somewhat more optimistic than just saying that they have to leave and nothing can be done about it, however more realistic and practical it is.

I've always subscribed to the notion that even with all this shit, the West is generally quite safe, but still... holy fucking hell. Specifically living in Singapore.

Yeah, if you have a chance to bash the attacker over the head with a textbook, you should probably take it. For example, if said attacker is outside, and you're on the second story, drop or throw something heavy at the attacker.

Apparently staged by Ukrainian security forces to catch assassins. So not entirely fair to blame the journalists. Weird though.
