Weather here doesn't change super fast (although, it still does seem to change fairly quickly), but it's not very predictable - at all.
The only thing that's truly predictable is the heat and the humidity - and yet we're still getting cold days this week.

Actually, not that often. When they do happen they don't usually turn out to be that bad. I can't remember the last time one actually killed anybody, probably was before I was born.

I would be terrified of EF3-5 tornadoes

They are scary. But people usually get used to them after a while. My dad grew up in Texas and Oklahoma so he wasn't scared about the tornado.
