Strangest military exercise I've ever seen...

Have you ever watched Starship Troopers?

During training one constantly points rifles at other people. Section attack drills, things like that. And your rifle is usually not unloaded, blanks make the situation much more realistic.

The adults in the video knew the pistol was unloaded. It was very poor gun control but suggestion that no one should ever point a gun at another person is just silly.

That might fly In the UK perhaps, not in the USMC. Muzzle awareness is stressed considerably, even when the weapon is unloaded. You do not fuck around like those guys were.

Yes, we do simmunition training with simmunition rounds, but those are fired from special rifle platforms. And even then, we stress muzzle awareness when not in the actual motions of the excercise.

Relevant Weapon safety rules: 1. Treat every weapon as if it were loaded. 2. Never point the weapon at anything you don’t intend to shoot.

So you consider military training stupid?

The point at which the human brain fully connects cause and consequence is in the early 20's. I would say it's about then.

That is some Gauth-level strawmanning there...

Because Telconi said nothing about military training being stupid, and you damn well know it.

Men taking selfies at a shooting range while pointing a gun at one another's heads is not "military training"

Then yes.

I was going to say, I've always had separate blank firing weapons for simulated fire training.

There’s also BFA’s which allow the conversion of a weapon to fire blanks, which gets integrated into MILES gear. It sucks to use, (weighs like 30 pounds) but good for maneuvers over considerable distance. But for MOUT we use simmunition, 9mm paint rounds.

So it's okay to point a weapon at someone if you have a BFA but otherwise it's insane and dangerous?

It's almost like there is a double standard and sometimes it's okay to point a weapon at people.......

No. The context here is whether children should be allowed to buy firearms.

You can keep ignoring me, but you’re wrong. A weapon should only, and I mean ONLY be pointed at a person when you’re prepared to shoot said person. I.e combat or in combat training maneuvers with MILES/Simmuntion. If you are not in the middle of said things you do not point the weapon at some one, and you definitely don’t fuck around with it like they were. That’s how people get killed.

The only reason the British Army uses BFAs is that they won't cycle properly using blanks without. You know that? Right?

And getting "shot" with a blank at close range fucking sucks?

That's as retarded as saying that allowing people to drive fast on racetracks and banning them from driving fast on public roads is a double standard.

No, you brought up the military exercises in some inane attempt at shooting down a general statement.

Sure, doesn't change the fact that you don't need to use live capable arms.

Not with a blank gun.

No you.

I was talking about children being allowed to buy firearms. The Two Jerseys brought up the adults in Texas.

I'm still of the opinion that children shouldn't be allowed to buy guns. What is your opinion on that?

Only if they are in the militia.

The British Army uses fully live weapons with a BFA. A BFA is just a bit of metal you screw into the muzzle.
