I wonder if the government should consider giving everybody a cheap gun for self-defence purposes? Obviously the gun market remains as it is, but everybody has a gun in the house.

Even if that was somehow required I'd hardly trust a gun provided for me by the state of California.

Cheapest gun I've ever seen in a gun store was a $99.99 .22LR single action revolver. Cheapest functional gun I think I've ever seen is a Hi-Point, (I use the word functional loosely) and those were running about 250, plus tax and tyranny.

I've seen$100 semi-auto .22 and .25s. You might be able to find $100 .22 rifles.

You forget, I live in California, the dealer would need to charge 100 bucks for a pistol just to offset the state being horrifying, then they'd need to actually charge you for the pistol.

Yeah they're about 150 here, and that's with the advantage of being made here in California. Basically if you make your gun to whatever dopey standards the state insists on, you get a break. have you noticed that those guns have three, count them, three safeties? Not only that but having shot a Phoenix that a buddy has for dicking around, I absolutely wouldn't trust it to kill anything beyond a particularly docile pop can.

His idea was to start a campaign on social media , blasting pols pushing gun control, that gun control is racist and it harms illegal aliens, since that's the flavor of the month in regards to situation at the border and any attempt to hinder an illegal alien here in the US is verboten according to some people and pols.
