Even if that was somehow required I'd hardly trust a gun provided for me by the state of California.

It'd probably backfire and kill you for daring to use a firearm.

I've seen$100 semi-auto .22 and .25s. You might be able to find $100 .22 rifles.

You forget, I live in California, the dealer would need to charge 100 bucks for a pistol just to offset the state being horrifying, then they'd need to actually charge you for the pistol.

Yeah they're about 150 here, and that's with the advantage of being made here in California. Basically if you make your gun to whatever dopey standards the state insists on, you get a break. have you noticed that those guns have three, count them, three safeties? Not only that but having shot a Phoenix that a buddy has for dicking around, I absolutely wouldn't trust it to kill anything beyond a particularly docile pop can.

Going back to my "follow the money" on gun control. PeopleGun control is just as about as profitable as is the firearm industry. However, as to the firearm industry, they earn their profits through the market, whereas gun control earns their money by hook and by crook and a nice little revenue generator for govt. Take for instance the latest unconstitutional flavor of the month, "Red Flag" laws. Also the few states that like to add on additional taxes on ammo, firearms, gear, accessories, etc., that are firearm related.
Defending Against a Red Flag Confiscation Will Cost You Thousands
Florida Man Has Firearms Rights Taken Away Over Mistaken Identity
I suspect if gun control weren't as lucrative as it is, there wouldn't be much interest in it other than a hatred for individual freedoms, but that's just my opinion.

Never underestimate the ability of self righteous villains to pursue self righteous villainy. They don't need to make a dollar on gun control. Although it surely doesn't hurt when they do.

But then how would authoritarian anti-gun fanatics protect the innocent home invaders, gang rapists, violet homophobes/racists, and murderers from their dastardly victims, if not by disarming the latter?

Interesting you brought that up. Buddy of mine was just saying he had an idea to stop pols from pushing anti gun bullshit. His idea was to start a campaign on social media , blasting pols pushing gun control, that gun control is racist and it harms illegal aliens, since that's the flavor of the month in regards to situation at the border and any attempt to hinder an illegal alien here in the US is verboten according to some people and pols.

That could work. Promote guns as defending the poor and the illegal aliens.
