Gun control is like trying to solve drunk driving by making it harder for sober people to own cars.

Any accident you can walk away from is one I can laugh at.

Same. I also think trust is more specific to the individual, there was nothing wrong with five year old me operating a firearm, and yet there are grown ass adults I wouldn't trust with one.

I started at age 12. At age 15 I had a negligent discharge while on a range and under command. I was distracted thinking about exams and I fired an aimed round before the order to fire was given.

People fuck up. Children fuck up far more frequently than adults. Their brain doesn't fully link action and consequence. It's why we don't tend to leave children alone without adult supervision.

And judging by that fuckwad who got banned from a gun range in Texas because he thought it would be hilarious to take a selfie of him pointing a handgun at his friend's head, the adult brain doesn't fully link action and consequence, and it's a good thing that they had an instructor supervising them to stop him before something bad happened.

During training one constantly points rifles at other people. Section attack drills, things like that. And your rifle is usually not unloaded, blanks make the situation much more realistic.

The adults in the video knew the pistol was unloaded. It was very poor gun control but suggestion that no one should ever point a gun at another person is just silly.

I was actually trying to move the conversation a little. Adults do dumb thinks with firearms. Adults do the same things with firearms and it's considered okay. In the video being discussed the pistol was unloaded and the magazine was being held in the hand of the person having the pistol put to their head. It might have looked stupid but the two guys knew what they were doing.

But I notice you've still not answered the question. Are you okay with children buying firearms after you accepted that they have issues understanding cause and effect?

So you consider military training stupid?

The point at which the human brain fully connects cause and consequence is in the early 20's. I would say it's about then.
