I mean if a blanket ban on guns is the easiest way to get the best policy outcome of the end of mass shootings then I'd support it. I don't really understand the emotional attachment to guns some people seem to have.

The same reason people form attachments to their cars or computers or stuffed animals. Things that make us happy or benefit us are valued, and humans tend to form emotional reactions to things they value. Simply shit right there.

Reason number 2. Providing for oneself and one's family. A $150 rifle and $20 of ammunition can put meat on the table for a family of four for a year. The best part is, that the year after that, it only costs $20.

Reason number 3. Armed resistance to tyranny. I don't think I have to explain this one, it's pretty self-explanatory.
