I’m neither supportive nor upset.

However, if it were me, I probably would have asked her what she’s going to do to bring attention to the institutional injustice of disproportionate prison sentencing suffered by men.

Like say, asking that women wait 60% longer for their food or something.

You see my cupcake post?
Remember that cupcake bullshit they pushed? Ima do a better one.

"Yeah girls, your cupcakes from my stall are cheaper. But they'll fall apart if you don't eat them ASAP and they're made of shittier ingrediants so they're worse for your health. Also, if you're not single, i'm going to flip a coin and if you lose the toss, you're paying full price anyway. If your partner is here, they can get a partial discount instead when you lose the toss. Mens cupcakes will not fall apart and can be eaten at their own leisure, aren't going to clog up their arteries, and if they are here with girlfriends they get to benefit from the coin toss. But they pay more. That's what's important, obviously."

There is an out of control trolley speeding towards Jeremy Bentham, who is tied to the track. You can pull the lever to cause the trolley to switch tracks, but on the other track is Immanuel Kant. Bentham is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Critique of Pure Reason. Kant is clutching the only copy in the universe of The Principles of Moral Legislation. Both men are shouting at you that they have recently started to reconsider their ethical stances.

You can make your own pizza rolls by making a pizza and then curling it into a roll and stuffing it into your face. I do it regularly.

Props to the smart businessman for making money off gullible guilty people, then making even more money by selling his story.

Don't think Outrage is in short supply, especially in the US. Finding it is a bit like announcing you've discovered a large reserve of sand.

Still profitable though. Particularly when you can make extra money as well as selling a story.

One would hope that the guy's got enough integrity to give the extra money earned to a local charity, though. I've no idea if they did or not though.

I have no idea how it is in the US but wouldn't that guy just be propagating his own problem? Charities are disproportionately white.

Yeah, this thread demonstrated the problem with trying to highlight racial inequality with even voluntary experiments that directly, personally engage white people: white fragility. This experiment was meant to bring attention to what is clearly a serious racial disparity with serious consequences... but instead of that we have to listen to a lot of fellow white people shout in fear of "reverse discrimination".

Because of course, discrimination is okay so long as you do it to this particular set of people, because those people totally deserve it. Also 'reverse discrimination' isn't discrimination just discrimination no matter who its against?

How can you possibly expect white people to trust progressives when they've so badly botched feminism and misandry and such?

Unless I'm misrepresenting him, by "progressive regime" Ostro generally means feminists and progressive minority rights advocates in positions of institutional power (particularly in academia and lobbying) who, in Ostro's views, have helped foster a misandrist and anti-white culture.

Make of that what you will.

Maybe.

He doesn't tell anyone they should pay more. He gives them the option to pay more.

He is quite clearly trying to get them to pay more.

I don't think it especially matters to him either way. I think the point is raising awareness.

Yes. Because the idea is to raise awareness.

I don't see how that refutes anything that I've said.

This does serve as a pretty good example of white fragility, though. Any possibility of a deeper conversation about the vast income inequality between races in that area is shut down entirely because the personal offense of being offered the voluntary option of paying more takes precedent.

Yeah, those white people are so fragile. You offer to charge them more because they are supposedly the descendants of people who treated other races poorly and they get all offended. We should replace all white people with Asians or something, or at least keep white people as slaves.

In all seriousness, its not like this money was even going to a charity for low income households (of any color, I hope) it was going to an upper-class-catering business.
